Creating images thrills my cells and keeps me tingling with aliveness. All of my senses thrive on the exploration of the unknown. So, I mould and stroke, pushing the pigment around on my palette and canvas until the finale’ emerges and I feel that “aha” deep inside my heart and soul. |

The color of the sea, embellished with blue and green hues, offset with lilac and peach beaches, fulfills the vision I have of Paradise and this aids in the development of my paintings. I have been on St. John for over 25 years, after being raised in Orlando and working at Disney world and producing pastel portraits. Then I sailed into Maho Bay and was lured by the beauty of the islands and the character of the West Indians. I continued to sail down island and returned to St. John making it my home. My husband, daughter and I have built an abode on the highest peak with a mystical view of the islands floating in the sea. Inspiration flows easily in the Caribbean Isles for me. I am often found sitting on the beach painting a wedding couple kissing. Or, hanging off the rigging of an island sloop, watching the pelicans, contemplating my next painting. I also paint many commissioned works, which stimulates my abilities to communicate successfully with my client to develop a joint collaboration. And then we celebrate the completed project. I use oils, watercolor, acrylics and imagination. I believe in looking in and around everything. Checking out the shadows and seeing what is within each aspect and allowing the information to seep in so that the transformation of energy that I receive goes into the vessel that I am holding at the time in order to share the experience with all.
